Spectacular! A reservation for six with Open Table, outside dinning under the lighted trees with air conditioning stations blowing cool air on a warm summer night. Live music drifting out from the open bar area. Television screens visible inside the bar for the sports nuts. There was something for everyone on the patio at Aqua Prime. Our server, David, was very friendly and informative. He did an excellent job keeping us full of the complimentary warm pita bread and white bean hummus - yum! All the food was delicious. My husband had the fresh catch, Mahi Mahi with warm goat cheese - very tasty. I had the prime rib and I have to say it was probably the best I've had anywhere. I also ordered an add-on of scallops (cooked to perfection) with coconut curry sauce which was also very good. My favorite thing was the gnocchi with mushrooms side. Weight watchers beware - swimming in a flavorful butter sauce is part of what made it oh so good! I will be ordering that every time we go...yes, we will be back, again and again I'm sure. Loved it!

Me and a party of 6 decided to,fine here in our last day of our week long beach vacation. Boy was it a great last meal. We all got prime rib and me and another party member had the surf and turf. 6oz delicious lobster tail (best I have had in florida) and a 6oz Angus beef filet cooked to perfection and literally melts in your mouth. This is a great place and my new favorite steak restaurant. Better than burns, Charlie's and salt rock. And half the price. Great service as well.

We were celebrating 4 September birthdays with a party of 13. Nice seating area, food was very good, with friends ordering a verity off of the menu. All went well until it cam time for the checks. We waited probably 30 min after dessert was finished, with the waiter claiming "computer problems". Management should have given him a hand with a party this large. So, all in all a nice time was had by all. Better service would have earned a 5 star rating

Having opened just over a year ago, Aqua Prime is bringing elegance and modern flair to the Steak & Seafood scene in Largo. For comparable prices as other surf and turf joints, this restaurant is making waves. We arrived during peak dinner time and luckily were seated right away. They have both an indoor and outdoor dining area. If the weather is holding up, opt for the outside seating. AP provides heating lamps so even if there's a breeze you're not too chilly. Surrounding the dining area are beautiful hanging glass lights which really up the ambiance factor. It's welcoming and classy. What I really love is that AP offers up complimentary warm pita and homemade white bean hummus. So different from what I'm used to, and SO delicious. It was a great starter to an even more fantastic meal. They offer a "sunset dinner" if you arrive between 4-6pm which provides you with a salad, entree and dessert for $14. That's a pretty great deal if you ask me. I ended up ordering the 8oz. Top Sirloin with mashed potatoes and the House Salad with Citrus Vinaigrette. For starters, the salad was fantastic. Very fresh and I was glad to see they didn't skip on the leafy greens. And I really loved the citrus dressing. As for the Sirloin, it was top notch. My steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and the mashed potatoes were creamy/smooth. I enjoyed every aspect of my meal and was thoroughly impressed. I was also able to try the Curry Seared Scallops. Interesting, right? I don't think I've ever seen those flavor combinations before. But let me tell you, it works. The coconut curry sauce elevated the scallops to another level and packs a flavorful punch. If you're hungering for something more "out of the box", this one might be for you. Aqua Prime, you have impressed me. I was blown away from the elegant atmosphere to the risky as well as classic food pairings. Next time I'm in FL, you bet I'll be back.

Just had a delicious dinner at Aqua Prime. Food could not have been prepared any better. From salad to dessert our meal was so good. Our waitress was delightful also. We will go back again. Beautiful restaurant and bar areas also. Next time we may choose outdoor dinning. Perfect evening.

This is my new favorite restaurant. Everything was delicious, including the white bean hummus, the Caesar salad, and the Strip. I can't tell you how beautiful this place is. Service? The best on Gulf Blvd. Don't miss Scott. This place is amazing.

Went here on vacation... Thought it would be a decent place, but food was mediocre and service was extremely slow. When we got here we were the only table so figured we would get decent attention, but servers seemed standoffish. Spent a lot of time waiting for food (spent over 2 hours total in restaurant). Had to ask three times for pita bread (since the humus was good), but by time they brought it out there wasn't even enough to serve the entire table. Consistency of food was poor. Wife's potatoes were undercooked and my niece's potatoes were burnt. Prime rib was not best cut. Definitely not worth the highly priced menu items.

Had a wonderful time after a long beach day! We were 8 strong, but the service didn't skip a beat. I tried a bit of each dish, and loved both of mine. I was in hog heaven. I rarely go hard with five stars on the first visit, but we always seem to get stuck in the worst service debacles when we head out to the beach in a large group. This trip was the only exception after being to lots of places all over this beach for years. I'm stoked to have found a place where I like the food, drinks, and clean, spacious set up. My food was cooked right to temperature, and both meat and seafood dishes were a hit, where it's usually one or the other. I'm sure Ben saw the weary look in our eyes because he was pretty fast and efficient. Can't weight to get back here and hang out on the patio on a cool fall day.

The valet parking can be deceiving As this place can either be a fancy dinner place or a laid back place to grab some drinks and apps. Sat out back at the bar. Drinks were great, music by Big Rich was terrific. Food was delicious. As a newbie to IRB, will definitely go back. Get the pits and white bean hummus!!!

A pretty good choice for seafood near Indian Rocks beach. It is more upscale than a lot of the choices nearby for a nice night out. You won't see people in flip flops and bathing suits here, which is a nice change for an evening out. The food was very good and the Key Lime Creme Brulee was fantastic. The only downside is the speed of service. The servers had a full house, but it did seem to be dragging for the amount of staff on hand. We certainly weren't in any hurry, so it only bothered me slightly, but worth noting.

5 star food and service. Drinks , at $8 each, seemed watered down. Tried a mojito. Didn't muddle the lime and mint. Used sugar syrup not sugar... Really blah. Then tried a rum fruit drink (on their special card on table). Same... just ok. Others in party said same of their cocktails. Food was great. We had blackened shrimp, (I ordered it with a Caesar salad, sautéed veggies and sweet potato fries) great. Chicken Alfredo like dish with capers was great. Steak great. Sat on patio. Nice place. We'll be back but not for cocktails.

We ate at Aqua Prime last night and I can sum it up in one word AWESOME! We had the tuna appetizer, coconut crusted salmon, stuffed founder, and Apple tart for dessert and all the little things in between. It was seriously all good and piping hot. The farm vegetables were very good too. The waiter was very helpful with our selections. The salads were delicious and that's hard to do with a salad. Their pita and hummus appetizer was so good I couldnt stop eating it. I will drive back to eat here and would highly recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and family. You will not be sorry I promise, if you are you just don't have any tastes buds.

Wonderful experience here last night! After a long day out on the beach that ended with a massive thunderstorm, we camped out at Barefoot Beach Resort until the weather stabilized. We got hungry and decided to try this place instead of hitting up the usual Conch Republic or Salt Rock, and we couldn't have been more pleased about that decision. We rolled up 8 deep, and the manager quickly formed an area for us by having some tables put together. We sat down and were promptly greeted by Ben, who took our drink orders and brought us all some water. We probably looked war-torn and dehydrated. After placing our orders, our server brought our some plates of warm pita bread and hummus. This was a great switch up to the free dinner bread deal that all the restaurants are doing these days. I ordered the 8 oz. grouper (fried) with mixed veggies, island rice and a Caesar salad. The salad was pretty good. The dressing was creamy and definitely home made. If those croutons weren't as well, I couldn't tell. As for the grouper, I added a pic to show off the size of this thing. 8 oz. is really too much, and in hindsight, I should have gone with the 5 oz. because I was freakin' STUFFED. And while I didn't order it in sandwich form, this particular grouper ranked up there with some of the best I'd had. Not sure what the sauce was that came served on the side, but it tasted like a wonderful marriage of garlic aioli and tater sauce. It really set the dish off. (Side note: There is an appetizer on the menu that comes with Cuban bread, so I'm betting one could order the grouper with that and make a sandwich of it.) The atmosphere might be the big winner though. The open floor layout makes the place seem way bigger than it is, and there is a massive bar area and patio out back where the sea breeze replaces A.C. You can either belly up to the bar and watch the game or grab a seat on the patio and enjoy the Florida weather while you eat. Overall, great looking place with fantastic service and good food. Will definitely pay another visit.

A great location with free valet parking makes it easy to leave this place and walk directly across to the beach access for a sunset after dinner. Eating out back on the shaded patio is a treat when the weather permits but inside has a very classy and comfortable atmosphere as well yet feels more like a high-end dining place yet you can go in dressed pretty casually ( not in beach wear of course) and still fit in just fine. There is also bar seating which is both inside and outside bordering the patio dining area with several TVs if you like to watch any sporting events while you eat / drink. What really is the star here though is the food. Everything from the sauces to the soups to the steaks or seafood, even the sides have all been excellent on our multiple trips here. The chef in this place really knows how to make good food and we are definitely not reluctant to bring pickier friends or family here as they all have been impressed with the food as well. I also appreciate that their seafood is all wild caught which is something you don't always know or find when eating at a seafood restaurant. The only reason for one less star is that the service on many nights seems slow even though its never slammed or terribly busy when we're there. This seems to happen more outside on the patio and maybe that's because it's expected to be a little more relaxed slow dinner there. But keep that in mind when planning a dinner where you want to go watch the sunset at a certain time.

I went to Aqua Prime Seafood & Steaks with a group of 10 people. We went for the early dinner specials at 5:00 on a Sunday evening. They offer drink specials during this time like $3.00 house wine and $4.00 well drinks. The restaurant is pretty on the inside and has a nice bar. They provide fresh, warm pita bread and house-made hummus while you decide on your order. This was very tasty and a nice change from the usual bread and butter. The waiter told us that the restaurant is under new ownership, and then took the time to explain that the meats and seafoods were carefully selected to not include antibiotics and that the new owner is using very fresh ingredients. Several of us ordered the Mediterranean salad. It was a Greek salad with beets, feta cheese, cucumbers, mixed greens and a scoop of potato salad. You can add chicken or seafood to the salad. The presentation of the salad was nice and I enjoyed my salad and the balsamic dressing. My one suggestion is that the salad would be better with sliced rather than chopped beets and a chunk of feta which I think is closer to the Greek way and you can taste the components better. The others in the group ordered the cheese burger soup, the streak and the salmon. All liked their meals and were pleased that dessert is included in the early dinner specials. The server was especially friendly and careful in his service of our group.

It's probably 3$ signs ($$$) instead of 2 $$; however, I really liked it a lot & will return. We sat outside. Our waiter, Ben, was quick and efficient. Loved the musician who sang James Taylor-ish songs and played the guitar. A few mistakes with our orders (grilled not blackened & another minor issue or two) but we'll go back because the food was pretty good.

I love this place. Great ambiance and delish food. I'm a local so I've been about five times so far. I've yet to have anything less than a great experience. My favs are the gnocci and the fish & bean soup. Interesting wines and local beer. The patio is awesome.

I'm giving one star for the decor. Arrived (no line) and was escorted to a table, then ignored by all waiters while customers who came in after us were waited on and received water and drinks -- eventually I went and requested a waiter. Waiter was assigned (who had refused to look at us earlier), and made effort to be friendly. Mojito was tolerable (a bit watery). House salads were the highlight of the meal -- very fresh and tasty, tomatoes seemed fresh off the vine. When entrees arrived, both mine and my wife's were overcooked and saturated with salt. Overcooked grilled grouper (sad), leathery overcooked potatoes, and overcooked gnocci. This is the 3rd local restaurant I've eaten at in two days here at Indian Rocks Beach, and it was by far the worst experience (Keegans was best, followed by Guppies); it was also the most expensive meal. Ambiance was kind of nice, though, so too bad about the service and food -- I really wanted to like this place.

In case it wasn't common knowledge, the ownership of this restaurant changed about one year ago. So if you read old reviews, take it with a grain of salt. My husband and I dined here today. We arrived around 6 and there were only 3-5 other parties. By 7, the place was full. Our experience was excellent! Shortly after seating, the waiter brought out warm pita slices with homemade hummus that was very good. I ordered a cucumber crush martini...fabulous. It was the right balance of sweetness and very refreshing. The seared spiced tuna appetizer was fresh and flavors full of spiciness that complemented the wasabi and soy sauce. My entree was their special...prime rib and gnocci as a side dish. The gnocci was amazing blend of mushrooms. Prime rib was delicious. My husband had a 2" filet migno cooked "Pittsburgh" style. They sear the outside and rare in the middle. It was EXCELLENT! He paired it with perfectly grilled fresh Norwegian salmon. Johnny the manager checked on each table and gave us a tour of the outside bar which is so inviting and well equipped. It has a beautiful canopy of trees with lights and heaters for the winter and a/c units for the summer. Tons of tv for watching sporting events. A secret patio bar with lots of free parking. We plan to make this outdoor space our own. We ordered the coconut cake to go because we were so full. But if the rest of the food was an indication, it will be delicious. Attention and service were first rate. It is not a cheap restaurant but the prices were reasonable for quality of the food and service. Give it a try, I am sure you will like it.

Had dinner last night, we had 9 in our group. Everyone at the table commented on how much they enjoyed their entrees. My wife had scallops and I had the 12oz. NY Strip. We has the tuna appetizer, the best quality tuna I have had at any restaurant. The quality of the food was noticeable. The Caesar salad was the best I've had recently in the area. Ben was an outstanding server. It's rare when you are leaving a restaurant and already thinking of when you will be back!

Waited at the entrance , empty of any restraurant staff, with two other groups for about 10 minutes before the hostess showed up to seat us. No friendly greeting. Ambience was modern, clean, but a bit dark for my taste. Service was friendly, although inattentive, and the waiter was clueless about the menu. I ordered the Trio special - salmon, shrimp, and stuffed grouper. The salmon was very rare, and the grouper was raw. Yes raw - translucent pink, shiny, and with a gummy texture. Sent back to be cooked. Manager stopped by our table (random visit), I explained the situation, and he said that he was going to the kitchen "to check" - implying that he would return. We never saw him again. Horrible experience. I ignored a long list of poor reviews - shame on me.

Lovely place, and very reasonably priced. On the last night of our vacation we ate here; we both had prime rib - my partner's medium well done and mine rare - and both were excellent. The fish chowder was delicious, and their hummus / pita plate was a very pleasant alternative to the usual bread and butter - and very delicious. Our waitress Rachelle told us that we were her first table ever, but she took excellent care of us. We would definitely eat here again.

  • Lacey A.

First off let me say our dinners were fantastic! And the only reason this wasn't five star was because our server wasn't all that great. We started out with the coconut shrimp appetizer and it was perfect! It was lightly breaded and the sauce with it was different but in a good way. For dinner I got the seared scallops with the island rice and there was a side of veggies (green and yellow zucchini squash). The scallops were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right, They also had a ginger like Alfredo sauce on the scallops that I enjoyed. The rice was perfect! It was fluffy and had nice little hints of coconut and pineapple flavor. My mom got the filet and rice and she said the steak was very tender but lacking in seasoning. For dessert I had asked what the cheesecake was since the chef has different flavors at different times, our waitress told us and I then asked how the coconut cake was and she said it looked really good and was locally made. I wasn't sure what I wanted but she said "so I'll grab you the cake" and left ...not letting me decide and not asking if my mom wanted anything (she did) so as we were waiting we had no drinks and still looking to get my moms dessert ordered. Once she came with the cake we finally asked for the drinks and other item. We shared the coconut cake and let me say it was pretty good! It had a raspberry drizzle over it which was really good and kind of pulled it all together. We finally got the other dessert which was the dark chocolate brownie and that as well was really good! Overall our food was amazing but the service could of been a little better. But I would recommend going here if you're looking for a fine seafood and steak restaurant.

Won't be back. Seafood dishes did not taste fresh. Meat cuts were ok but not excellent for price range. Decor is Pier One like and doesn't match menu section and prices. Open restaurant with a party taking over the whole ambiance. Manager checked in often and helped the tables but no direction in group's ambiance or asking for feedback.

First time visitor to thls new restaurant. Wife & I went New Years Eve, menu, food & service was outstanding. Prices were reasonable. Would recommend. using the valet parking if they are busy. All in all, a great evening. Will be back.

We tried this relatively new restaurant tonight, and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff is very pleasant and attentive, and the food was very good and I thought reasonably priced. Really decently sized draft beers for only a dollar and a half during happy hour. The decor had comfortable booths, there were tables in the middle of the room, but the floor and other accouterments were a bit on the sterile and cold side. Nevertheless, I'm sure we will be back many times.

Went on our last night in the area for a little more upscale dinner with another couple. The place is nicely decorated and has several rooms and a couple of bar areas. Again a disappointing tap beer selection - what's going on Florida? Started with coconut shrimp and chicken satay. The shrimp was very good but the satay was dry and had no flavor. Our entrees were lobster and steak, fresh grouper and yellow fin tuna. The lobster was good but the fish and steak were all overcooked. There seemed to be problems in the kitchen that night because it took almost 2 hours to get our entrees. However, our waiter was good and kept us posted on the delays but it was a little disappointing and the food quality suffered. They gave us complimentary desserts because of the wait but they were not memorable. I may return if in the area but the the kitchen needs to step it up because I honestly had better grouper in water side dives during our stay in the area.

The star is for the nice atmosphere and decor only, the food was horrible and service so slow (and we were basically the only ones in there). The worst part was I think I got food poisoning from the grouper sandwich. Everyone in my party of 6 was not impressed. Overpriced and sketchy food.

We are in town visiting and did not have reservations for New Years Eve. After searching Yelp and Trip Advisor we saw Aqua which did not yet have any reviews. We gave it a shot and went there for dinner. What a pleasant surprise! My girlfriend had lobster with a side of gnocchi and a house salad. I had scallops with a side of Mac & Cheese and the steak & vegetable soup. The food was amazing! We are total foodies and travel all over the country trying unique cuisines and local restaurants. What a nice surprise this place is. The ambience is awesome, the food amazing and the service was wonderful. Could not ask for a better place to dine!

Snowbird city ... The food at Aqua Prime is so delicious, but the place is noisy and crowded, which is a bit of a turnoff if you're looking for a good date night spot. Hostesses don't really care if you like where they seat you. We most likely won't return, which is a shame because their menu is varied and food is spot-on and perfectly priced. Maybe we'll try it again off-season.

This was my first visit and it definitely won't be my last. As soon as you walk in you are greeted warmly by the handsome host! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and you are given the option of the lovely inside dining room or the bar area and outside seating area. Mom and I sat inside and had a very sweet and knowledgeable waitress. Our drinks were reasonably priced ($6 for a Malibu Bay Breeze and $4.50 for a tall rum and coke!). We ordered crab cakes and coconut encrusted salmon. We each got a fresh, crisp, delicious Caesar salad - lovely fresh grated cheese and not too potent homemade dressing. They also bring warm pita bread with homemade hummus - to die for! Then the meal came - mom's crab cakes served with pineapple salsa, sweet potato waffle fries, fresh vegetables all served on a bed of greens. My coconut salmon with a sweet sauce draped over top with silky mashed potatoes, fresh veggies, all served over a bed of greens. Satisfying, delicious, and so reasonably priced!! Definitely recommending to all my friends! Will be back ASAP! :-)

At last !!! This great location on Gulf Blvd (close to Crabbie Bills) has been taken over by people who know what they are doing. Good food, beer and wine and live music (not too loud) in the courtyard. Good value menu where the entree comes with either soup or salad and includes fresh veggies and a side AND a sauce. Friendly, competent staff - what more could you ask for on a lovely sunny evening? Very busy so reservations advised.

This place is amazing!!!! We sat outside under the heaters and it was the perfect setting. We ordered the stuffed oysters and mussels divine - so good. Everything was so fresh. Cooked perfectly and perfect sized portions. The waiter was awesome. I just love this place. It feels comfortable and classy. They had this DJ, Bobby Summers and he was simply amazing. Timeless music paired with great ambiance, awesome food and an extremely comfortable setting- you really can't ask for more. The burger was perfect, the blackened grouper couldn't have been cooked more perfectly, the gnocchi with pork was amazing and so was the coconut shrimp. You have to try this place out. Fresh. Simple. Amazing.

Food was decent. Speared surf and turf was good. Burger was good, shrimp wrap was blah. Very slow service, which is why I give 3 stars. Our waiter's head was in the clouds...45 minute wait for the food when the restaurant was half empty. Definitely, would check out the bar in the future!

Where do I begin? Tried the restaurant last week, liked it so much, I brought my neighbors with me last night. We tried the steaks, short ribs, calamari, gnocchi with mushrooms roasted herb potatoes, all were perfectly prepared. Service by Derrick our waiter, was impeccable, we were all quite satisfied with our meal choices as well as the overall experience at Aqua Prime. My husband and I enjoyed our dinner so much, we were back today for lunch, had the best mussels I think we have ever had, they had a citrus lemon butter sauce, with smoked sausage, capers and feta cheese, used the cuban bread to soak up all that yummy goodness!! The $3.00 glass of house chardonney went well with that dish! We sat at the bar this time and the bartender, Evette, was quick and fun to talk to. All in all, this is a special place, give it a try, I promise you will love it like I do! Oh, and dont forget to save a bit of room for dessert, the Key Lime Brulee is a home run!

Came here on vacation -no wait on a Friday, which was good. Service, however, was terribly slow. We probably sat for 45 minutes before our meals actually got out. Food was good. We really enjoyed the warm pita and our salads. I had the filet mignon, very tender. Potatoes were slightly cold. Mojitos good. Reasonable prices. Overall average, nothing worth writing home about.

It is rare to find a restaurant that will get seafood and steaks right. The appetizers, sides and desserts are always top notch. As far as the staff goes, kuddos. This place will ensure that you don't leave hungry! Best place in town, hands down.

We are really enjoying the music that has been included on the air conditioned patio! This place could really become a sought after destination for great jazz. Everyone in our party ordered steak that was outstanding! The manager is very helpful and happy to set up for large parties. We love it!

My Wife and I went for some beef. I had the twelve ounce ribeye and my wife had the tenderloin burger. My ribeye was thin, lacked seasoning and was underdone. My Wife's burger was also pink and underdone to her liking, after it rested it leaked all over making it soggy.

The warning signs were everywhere but we were on vacation mode so we proceeded anyway. From the untrained wait staff to the awful live music, everything about the restaurant screams bland. It was so bad it became comical.

Not bad, decent steaks, good drinks ok service. we sat outside on the back patio and it was hard to talk or have conversation because of music competing with the many TVs at the bar. if I came back again I would probably stick with a sandwich or wrap. Our biggest complaint was the sauces were not on par with the claims. Peanut sauce not authentic, blue cheese sauce had no blue cheese, my red wine sauce was also a little bland . Disappointing in that area. To me dishes are only as good as their sauces. Rib eye was very fatty but otherwise tender. Not as good as EE stakeout grill on east bay. Mediocre at best.

VERY FRIENDLY and the FOOD IS EXCEPTIONAL for the area, and I have eaten just about every place here. The staff and bartenders all smile and greet you warmly which is rare when a restaurant is busy. The co-owner came by to the table to small-talk you, which is nice. The restaurant is clean and very well run.

Everything was really good. The service was exceptional. The restaurant serves a variety of food. Almost everything has seafood in it, including the salads. I would highly recommend if you like shrimp. It's even in the salads. The prices were great. It was newly remodeled and looks great too.
